Captain Neil Pike
Late Grenadier Guards
by Major Philip Wright
formerly Grenadier Guards

Neil Pike died on 10th February 2023 aged 77. He was the second son of Lieutenant Colonel G E Pike DSO MBE, who had served with the 4th Tank Battalion throughout the campaign in North West Europe. Neil followed his father into the Regiment with a Regular Commission, joining the 2nd Battalion in Wuppertal in July 1965 and later in Munster. He proved to be a proficient commander of an armoured platoon before transferring to the Guards Depot as an instructor of junior soldiers.

After leaving the Army in 1970 he went to Cranfield Business School and then followed a career in banking, much of it with Citibank in New York and London.

In March 1968 he married Lady Romayne Brabazon, daughter of the 14th Earl of Meath (also a Grenadier), and they had two children, Tamsin and Harry.
A real countryman and a true friend, Neil will be much missed.
